Bovington Camp in Dorset has been established as a Training Camp since 1916. The area surrounding Bovington is rural. Amenities within Bovington are limited so travelling to Dorchester (11 Miles) or Poole (13 Miles) is essential for Supermarket shopping and where you will find all major high street stores. Closer to Bovington is the village of Wool (2 miles). The Train Station there provides a vital link for travelling to Wareham (7 miles), which has a small high street with various local shops and Banks/Building Societies. The seaside resorts of Bournemouth, Weymouth and Swanage are all less than 25 miles away. Many former Military houses in Bovington are now owned by civilians. A community spirit has developed between the Military and Civilian population in Bovington and is proving to be successful one with many events being jointly organised and supported by both communities.

Networked through the internet, HIVE Information Centres worldwide are able to deliver information quickly and efficiently. The range of information is extensive, focusing on enquiries about the local area and unit, education, housing, employment, training, health and childcare facilities and support during periods of operational deployment.
HIVE Information Centres are an integral welfare support asset to their employing units, where a bespoke information service for the local Service community is assured. We understand the need for fast and effective responses and work hard to respond to your information needs in an accurate and timely manner through our links with various MOD and civilian agencies and the single Services. In addition, we are trained to recognise when it may be appropriate to confidentially refer you to the right person, within the extensive military and civilian professional agencies, should there be a need for personal help and support.
We do our utmost to provide an answer to any question, as quickly as possible. Answers will be immediately available, but if that’s not the case, no stone will be left unturned to find out what you need to know.
