The Red Lion Hotel

1 North St, Wareham BH20 4AB, UK – 01929 550099

We stopped off for a quick bite and to sample some local Ales. The food was nice and the ales were lovely. The interior was luxurious and had a homely feel. There was more than enough space to ensure a bit of privacy. The locals made us feel right at home upon arriving at the pub, which isn't always the case when visiting a small village.

Came for food and was very happy. Very friendly, efficient service, good food and nice decor. I found the menu a little limited but still had enough options to suit our group.

Springfield Country Hotel Leisure Club & Spa

Grange Rd, Wareham BH20 5AL, UK – 01929 552177

Lovely Hotel with lovely gardens and leisure facilities. Sadly the outside pool is still not in use and has been like this for the last 3 weeks. Still like this, as of 12th July 2017. The pool opened last week (August 2018). Sadly our membership finished the end of July. Decided not to renew !

Love visiting this hotel, staff are lovely, the rooms very nice (no a/c) food ok. I visit the king's head down the road more for the change of scenery, however, the food is nice there also.

The Old Granary

The Quay, Wareham BH20 4LP, UK – 01929 552010

Lovely setting by the river. A few months ago we were disappointed with the limited menu. We decided to try it again today. I'm so glad we did. I ordered Scallop and Parmesan Risotto. It really was the best risotto I have had. My husband ordered Woodland Chicken which he said was delicious followed by sticky toffee pudding. Good service. Friendly staff. Perfect meal. We'll definitely be returning soon.

Service fantastic. Chicken and Bacon salad really nice. Sat outside with view of river. Will definitely be going back 😊

The Sandford

Wareham Road, Sandford BH20 7AE, UK – 01929 550800

Here for a birthday party. Excellent food and plenty of it. Staff very friendly and efficient. Great time had by all. Will still keep coming.

Enjoyed a Lovely meal at the Sandford. The to.e made onion rings were delicious ( I don't normally like onion rings) very generous portions at a reasonable price. 5* service from our waitress Naomi

The Kings Arms

3 Corfe Rd, Stoborough, Wareham BH20 5AB, UK – 01929 552705

Tasty food, dogs welcome, and fully accessible with a disabled toilet. We sat outside as it was 30 degrees! Trees shade a couple of tables, but lots of others have umbrellas, and ones that are separate so you don't have to have half the table in the sun. Tupperware containers with water all round for the dogs, and tables on level hardstanding as well as on the grass, even a slope up to an open green space with a play area at the end, albeit gravel. One of the most accessible places I have been to. A good tab system where your card is locked and you get a key to release it later. Probably gets very busy at weekends. Order and pay at bar on a Monday lunchtime. Not a tremendous view, but certainly green and pleasant round the back. Full marks well deserved :)

This pub felt bustling without being too noisy. We were in the window by the bar, and it felt quiet enough, though the staff were clearly busy with people elsewhere inside and outside. The food was a little pricey, but it was tasty. There was also a great selection of real ales, and judging by the questions from the locals, the selection changes regularly.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!
