The Red Lion Hotel

1 North St, Wareham BH20 4AB, UK – 01929 550099

Have used the Red Lion recently booking meals for smaller family occasions as well as larger group bookings. Have always had really friendly staff and the management have always been in the restaurant to help with any queries re menus and dietary needs etc. It is really great that they are also part of the Welcome Breastfeeding Scheme in Dorset, shows great support for local people as well as families/mums visiting the county on holiday. Really friendly place to visit with great staff and an extensive gin menu 👍👍

We stopped off for a quick bite and to sample some local Ales. The food was nice and the ales were lovely. The interior was luxurious and had a homely feel. There was more than enough space to ensure a bit of privacy. The locals made us feel right at home upon arriving at the pub, which isn't always the case when visiting a small village.

Springfield Country Hotel Leisure Club & Spa

Grange Rd, Wareham BH20 5AL, UK – 01929 552177

Have been staying here very regularly for two years. The hotel has undergone a significant amount of refurbishment in the last 6 months and has really benefitted from this. Service is always great, team are always helpful a five star hotel it is not however my room is always spotless, left items are always stored for my next trip - it is quirky however most of all as a lone female traveller i always feel safe and well looked after - thank you - was there last week certainly did not see a swamp in place of the outdoor pool - had a few leaves that was all

Very nice staff.. Very clean maybe needs updating.. But overall very good

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Old Granary

The Quay, Wareham BH20 4LP, UK – 01929 552010

Lovely setting by the river. A few months ago we were disappointed with the limited menu. We decided to try it again today. I'm so glad we did. I ordered Scallop and Parmesan Risotto. It really was the best risotto I have had. My husband ordered Woodland Chicken which he said was delicious followed by sticky toffee pudding. Good service. Friendly staff. Perfect meal. We'll definitely be returning soon.

Fantastic roasts great value and in large portion. Staff very friendly and a warm welcome, highly recommended. Look forward to visiting again

The Sandford

Wareham Road, Sandford BH20 7AE, UK – 01929 550800

We were really delighted with the food, drink and service. This is not the Hilton but a very good English country pub that is suitable for families wanting a good family meal at a fair price. If you want the Hilton experience then go to the Hilton. Too many pubs are being converted to flats or nursing homes. If we don't use it. We will lose it!!!When was the last time anyone converted a nursing home into a pub????

Here for a birthday party. Excellent food and plenty of it. Staff very friendly and efficient. Great time had by all. Will still keep coming.

The Kings Arms

3 Corfe Rd, Stoborough, Wareham BH20 5AB, UK – 01929 552705

Friendly staff and landlord. Dog friendly area to eat. Prices not the cheapest but worth it as my companion and someone else at another table thought it good enough to send compliments to the chef. As I had more than the driving limit of beer the landlord kindly allowed us to stay in a campervan in his car park.

Tasty food, dogs welcome, and fully accessible with a disabled toilet. We sat outside as it was 30 degrees! Trees shade a couple of tables, but lots of others have umbrellas, and ones that are separate so you don't have to have half the table in the sun. Tupperware containers with water all round for the dogs, and tables on level hardstanding as well as on the grass, even a slope up to an open green space with a play area at the end, albeit gravel. One of the most accessible places I have been to. A good tab system where your card is locked and you get a key to release it later. Probably gets very busy at weekends. Order and pay at bar on a Monday lunchtime. Not a tremendous view, but certainly green and pleasant round the back. Full marks well deserved :)

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!
