Hotels

The Priory Hotel

Church Green, Wareham BH20 4ND, UK – 01929 551666

Just fabulous. An excellent location for a family birthday get-together. Food, drink and service was outstanding.

Food was incredible and the service is second to none. Whole heartedly think this is the best restaurant I've even been too. The staff spoil you while not being intrusive and the surroundings are beautiful.

Springfield Country Hotel Leisure Club & Spa

Grange Rd, Wareham BH20 5AL, UK – 01929 552177

Beatiful grounds. Spacious lounge areas. Friendly staff. Lovely pool. Food is delicious but very big portions!!

We went for a cream tea for my friend's 21st birthday and it was lovely. The scones were warm and perfectly baked and the coffee was good (although I personally would have preferred it stronger). Only improvement I would suggest is having the staff a little more attentive as we were left to our own devices after we were told it was ready.

The Red Lion Hotel

1 North St, Wareham BH20 4AB, UK – 01929 550099

Fantastic staff, great service, cosy and accommodating. The Red Lion is a good stop over if you are making a long weekend visit to the Purbecks, or is an excellent place of reward after a good tramp along the coast or over the Heath. The Rex Cinema is about 2 minutes walk down the way, and with a film usually showing after 7pm, the Red Lion is a good place for dinner beforehand, or a nightcap after the movie: though in my case, it is usually both. Rooms are well laid out and parking, while limited, is available. Talk to the staff, and they will readily help you.

Lovely, friendly welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Great night's sleep and lovely breakfasts. The chocolate sponge is DIVINE.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Old Granary

The Quay, Wareham BH20 4LP, UK – 01929 552010

Friendly staff, great location Busy bank holiday weekend so many local pubs round campsites were packed. The slightly less touristy Wareham had space though! It’s a hall and wood house chain, with a good menu. Upstairs dining terrace roof, blankets and heaters and fairly well covered. Food was lovely however was surprised to end up sending my steak back (nearer Med-We’ll when I asked for Rare) and although the staff were really nice was surprised after waiting for 10 minutes and my other half almost finishing not being offered a drink or anything.

Lovely pub in the historic town of Wareham. Outdoor seating on the Quay with a heated upstairs outdoor dining area overlooking the river. Meals are quite pricey but as always you have to pay for the location. Can just purchase drinks. Toilets. Public pay and display car park on the Quay ... £1.50 for 2 hours April to October so not too bad.

The Antelope Inn

13 West St, Wareham BH20 4JS, UK – 01929 552827

I was in the Antelope Inn yesterday for my birthday, we were in a group of 14/15 of us. The staff was more than accommodating for us all. Everyone was friendly, really welcoming. The staff heard it was my birthday and decided to bring out a free tray of shots for the whole group, which was equivalent to roughly £40, they also got the whole pub singing happy birthday to me. Great atmosphere and staff. We was also allowed to get food from the chippy and eat it in the pub... how great is that! I will defiantly recommend. They all made my birthday one to remember. Thank you.

This is a lovely family run pub, very warm welcome, lovely lunchtime food,

The Horse & Groom

St John's Hill, Wareham BH20 4LZ, UK – 01929 552222

The horse and groom is now the best pub in Wareham. Good Bear and food at real good prices.

A lovely clean well kept pub. U also get a full pint of beer.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!
