I recently sold a property through Purbeck Property and was very happy with the service. I found that Mark and Dan were unfailingly polite and helpful. I prefer my comms by email and as the transaction was straightforward this worked very well, with fast responses from Mark and Dan. They kept good records of viewings and gave instant feedback, which was helpful in enabling me to log and track progress. I had previously approached some of the larger local agencies and found that at best, they were complacently resting on their laurels and at worst, totally indifferent to a new enquiry, which was staggering. I went with Purbeck Property as they are pleasant people and try harder, giving a personal service. Their fees were much more competitive than the dominant agencies, which is an enlightened attitude considering how the traditional estate agency model is outmoded and under threat from online services. Out of choice I would never use a traditional agency service. There is no economic justification for a linear, ad valorem fee. In fact, in any price negotiation there is always a point at which you are paying the agent to work against you as they try to close the deal. However, as I had no onward purchase and it was a remote transaction, where I could not be on hand for viewings, I was prepared to accept this. To be fair, the fact that Mark worked hard to help the purchasers to achieve a rapid exchange and completion by vigorously chasing their solicitors on their behalf was a great benefit to me too. All things considered, this was an efficient, friendly and professional service and is highly recommended.
